• SVS is a school of choice within the Sarasota County School district

Sarasota Virtual School also offers classes on a part time basis. Students can take up to 3 online courses while they are also enrolled in a district brick and mortar school, charter school, or homeschool. Part time classes operate thru our franchise of Florida Virtual School (FLVS). The franchise offers the ​same FLVS curriculum, but the courses are facilitated by local Sarasota County instructors who work in the school system. Part time courses are limited to Sarasota County students, therefore we offer students a connection to an instructor that works in one of Sarasota County schools.

Having a local instructor is a big advantage, since they have strong working relationships with your school staff and administrators. They are also very familiar with Sarasota County's policies and student progression plans. Also, depending on your online course, your teacher may actually work at your brick and mortar school!

​Part time courses are free, and are offered with continuous rolling enrollment throughout the school year and into the summer. Students have 24/7 access to their courses from any computer with an internet connection.

Click on Enroll, choose County Virtual School

Follow the prompts, and enter the required information

When you see the screen below, make sure you choose Sarasota Virtual. If it's not an option, that means the course isn't offered with SVS and you'll need to take it with FLVS Flex.

Students enrolled in brick and mortar schools can take up to 3 part time classes at a single time!
